On July 17, 1994 WCW’s inaugural Bash at the Beach was held in front of 14,000 fans at the Orlando Arena in Orlando, Florida. During the main event, Hulk Hogan made his WCW in-ring debut, and captured the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Ric Flair. Sensuous Sherri attempted to interfere and help Flair, however she was stopped by Mr. T. This gave Hogan the opportunity to take control of the match and pick up the victory following a legdrop. On April 17, 1994 WCW Spring Stampede took place in front of 12,200 fans at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago. The main event between Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship ended in a double-pin, resulting in The Nature Boy retaining the title.
